🎄 December 13th Devotional: Sharing the Cheer

Christmas cheer isn’t just about decorations or cookies or carols — it’s about carrying the joy of Christ into the lives of others. It’s about letting the light we’ve received spill over into someone else’s darkness.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

Sharing the cheer doesn’t require a stage or a spotlight. It begins in small, faithful ways:

🎁 A kind word to someone who feels invisible
🎁 A handwritten note tucked into a neighbor’s mailbox
🎁 A warm meal delivered with no strings attached
🎁 A smile that says, “You matter”
🎁 A prayer whispered for someone who’s hurting

🌟 Cheer Is Contagious
When we share joy, it multiplies. One act of kindness can ripple through a family, a workplace, a community.

🌟 Cheer Is Ministry
It’s not fluff — it’s fruit. The joy of the Lord is our strength, and when we share it, we’re offering something eternal.

🌟 Cheer Is a Choice
Even when we’re tired. Even when the season feels heavy. We can choose to be a vessel of light — not because everything is perfect, but because Jesus is present.

So today, let’s share the cheer. Not the forced kind, but the kind that flows from a heart anchored in Christ. The kind that says, “I’ve received joy, and I want you to have some too.”

A Prayer to Share the Cheer

Jesus,
You are the joy of my heart.
Help me carry that joy into the lives of others.
Let my words be gentle,
my actions be kind,
my presence be a reflection of Your love.

Show me who needs encouragement today.
Give me eyes to see,
ears to listen,
and hands ready to serve.

Let my cheer be real —
not loud, but lasting.
Not flashy, but faithful.

Because You came,
I have joy.
And I choose to share it.

Amen.
