📜 December 15th Devotional: Promises Kept in the Coming of Christ
Long before the manger, there were promises.
Whispers through prophets.
Visions in dreams.
Hope passed down through generations.
And then — in the quiet of Bethlehem — the promise was born.
“For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ‘Yes’ in Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 1:20
Jesus didn’t just arrive — He fulfilled. Every prophecy, every longing, every sacred word spoken in faith found its “yes” in Him.
🌟 The Promise of Presence
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means ‘God with us’). — Matthew 1:23
God didn’t stay distant. He came close. He wrapped Himself in flesh and entered our world — not as a king in robes, but as a baby in swaddling cloths.
🌟 The Promise of Redemption
“He will save his people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21
Jesus came not just to be born, but to redeem. To restore what was broken. To carry what we couldn’t. To fulfill the promise of mercy.
🌟 The Promise of Light
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light…” — Isaiah 9:2
In a world shadowed by fear, grief, and waiting, Jesus is the Light that cannot be overcome. His coming was the dawn of hope — and it still is.
This Christmas, remember: God keeps His promises. Not always in the way we expect. Not always on our timeline. But always, fully, and faithfully — in Jesus.
A Prayer of Gratitude for God’s Promises
Father,
Thank You for being a Promise Keeper.
Thank You for every word You’ve spoken —
and for fulfilling it in Jesus.
When I feel forgotten,
remind me of Bethlehem.
When I feel uncertain,
remind me of the manger.
When I feel weary,
remind me that You always come through.
Let my heart rest in Your faithfulness.
Let my life reflect Your promises.
And let this Christmas be a celebration
of every “yes” You’ve spoken through Christ.
Amen.
