🎄 December 18th Devotional: The Waiting Was Worth It

We’re getting close now.
The candles are burning lower.
The calendar is nearly full.
And still, we wait.

Advent is a season of anticipation — not just for a day, but for a Person. And as we draw near to Christmas, we remember: the waiting wasn’t wasted. It was preparation.

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son…” — Galatians 4:4

God didn’t rush the manger.
He waited until the time was right — not by our clocks, but by His heart.

🌟 Waiting Deepens Our Dependence
It reminds us we’re not in control. That we need a Savior. That we long for more than what this world can offer.

🌟 Waiting Refines Our Focus
It clears the clutter. It brings us back to what matters. It teaches us to look for Jesus — not just in Bethlehem, but in our everyday lives.

🌟 Waiting Prepares Our Hearts
The silence before the angels sang. The stillness before the shepherds ran. The quiet before the cry of a newborn King. All of it was holy.

So if you’re still waiting — for healing, for clarity, for peace — know this: God is not late. He is preparing something beautiful. And when it comes, you’ll know — the waiting was worth it.

A Prayer for the Final Stretch of Waiting

Jesus,
You are worth the wait.
Help me not to rush past this moment.
Help me to see You in the stillness,
to trust You in the silence,
to believe that You are near.

Thank You for coming at the perfect time.
Thank You for teaching me to wait with hope.
Let my heart stay open,
my spirit stay expectant,
and my life reflect the beauty of Your timing.

Amen.
